If you're not owed compensation

Some flights miss the €250–600 thresholds but still cost you money — meals nobody offered, a taxi, a hotel night, a seat worse than the one you paid for. For those there's a second letter: €9 flat, VAT included, covering everyone on the booking. It claims your documented costs back under the rules that do apply — care duties, the Montreal Convention, downgrade reimbursement — and puts your complaint on record with a 14-day reply deadline. It is not the €250–600 claim, and we say so before you pay. The free check tells you which letter, if any, fits your flight.

Why not take a cut instead?
